On Boarding Process

we have covered orientation in Chapter five, it is not just a way for the employers to get to know you, it is also a great way for the employee to break the ice and get to know his or her surrounding environment.
This article I've attached on the bottom offers a selected few companies due to their best orientation or what they call the on boarding process.
Twitter offers "Yes to Desk". the perks of saying yes includes before they sit down at their desinated desk, they have an email address, shirt, bottle of wine and strategically place their desk close to their key teammates they will be working with. They also offer monthly new hire happy hour to get face time with senior leadership as well as learning upcoming new projects.
Buffer offers three buddy system that includes, leader, role and culture buddy. It is to show the support system for the new hire and make them feel at ease.
Zappos persent 10 core values to new hires so they can be familiarize with the culture of the company. At one month, if the employee does not feel like this is the right fit, he or she is offered two thousand dollars to quit.
Facebook has an intense six week course for their engineers to learn their code and their companies culture. Often these engineers do not know what project they will be working on.
Google are known to front load their employees. With eighty percent of their time is spent on recruitment and onboarding. Google has created one of the top working enviroment in the tech industry.
Pinterest has an onboarding culture of pintesest calue of knitting. They meet on day one for breakfast and some ice breaker events to get to know their employee better.
All these companies are perspective leading giants in their field, they understand the value of hiring the right person, and they understand what it might cost them if the person is not the right fit. Zappos offers two thousand dollars after the first month to part way amicabally with anyone who just do not feel it. It is a great way to not waste the employers and the employees time.
