Joe Chang

Welcome to my page. My name is Joe Chang, I will be graduating from UNLV with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management in Spring 2018. I was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. Moved to Huntington Beach CA when I was 13 and relocated to Las Vegas when I was 27. I am a volunteer coach for Volleyball at various local clubs in Las Vegas. Working with kids ranging from 5 to 18 on all positions and skill set.

 

I've been working at The Mirage since I moved here. I was a Villa butler, Villa butler assistant manager for six and a half years and my current title is bartender. Most of my job are focused on customer service base. My job titles enable me to cross path with some of the wealthiest clients anyone can meet as well as other guests as well. I have since moved on to be a bartender at the Tom Collichio's Heritage Steaks as a bartender. Still serving many of the guest that I services in the Villas and doing what I love the most in hotels. Interacting with guests is an awesome feeling.

I am looking forward to learning more about human resource, it is one department in my current hotel that I have a vague understanding of. Many people view human resource as a department you report to when one gets in trouble with company bylaw. I for one believe that human resource has many other things to offer and I am looking forward to learning from this class.
